The Rangers closed their 2013 season last week with a 2-0 loss at home to Stillwater and a 5-0 loss to East Ridge, which took second in the Suburban East Conference with an SEC record of 6-1-2.
Stillwater took the conference title at 8-0-1 in SEC play and an overall record of 11-2-3.
The losses brought Forest Lake’s overall record to 3-12-1. The team’s section record of 1-4 puts it at the sixth seed of eight in Section 7AA standings and matches it with the No. 3-seed Duluth East.
Last season the Rangers went 1-3-1 in section play, but went on to upset the three-seed, Andover, in overtime, 3-2, before falling to top-seeded Blaine. The Bengals clinched the No. 1 seed again this year with an overall record of 12-2-2 and section record of 5-1. Andover moved up to the second seed.
The Rangers will face the Greyhounds at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10 in Duluth.
