City proposing major staff reorganization

A significant, four-phase reorganization of the city’s staff is in the works. The Finance Committee last week lent its recommendation to the proposal, as did the Personnel Committee this week, said City Administrator Aaron Parrish.

The proposed moves include the elimination of 15 positions and the creation of 15 new ones. The shake-up encompasses five departments. The plan would save about $155,000 in annual costs.

The proposed reorganization will come before the City Council on Monday, Oct. 28. The council will be asked to approve the general concept and authorize the first phase.
