Autumnwood milk recalled

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture is advising consumers to avoid drinking Autumnwood Farm skim milk sold in one-half gallon (1.89L) glass bottles with a sell-by date of Oct. 28, 2013 after a routine sampling by MDA found the product had not been properly pasteurized.

The Forest Lake micro-creamery is fully cooperating with the MDA and is contacting retail stores and restaurants and voluntarily recalling the product. The issue is due to a possible equipment design flaw at the state permitted processing plant. Autumnwood Farm is working with MDA staff to remedy the equipment issue.

Customers who have the skim milk product at home should return it to the store from which they purchased it. About 300 one-half gallons of product were produced with that sell-by date. No illnesses have been linked to this product.
