Marc C. Shoquist
Marc Chaney Shoquist, age 85, of Edina, was born Feb. 17, 1928 in Scandia and died suddenly, but peacefully, on Oct. 15, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Kirchherr); parents, Arthur and Emily; brother, David.
He is survived by his daughter, Cherie Shoquist; granddaughter, Annika; sister-in-law, Patricia Joan (Kirchherr) Allen; nephew, David Shoquist; niece, Patti (Shoquist) Mackey; favorite cousin, Karen Grandstand Gervais; also other dear family and close friends.
Marc served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was an officer in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Marc worked nearly 40 years as an engineer at Sperry Univac and Alliant Tech, was a member of several standing NATO committees for 25 years and was one of the original Geek Squad. He was a committed volunteer to 4-H, supporter of the DFL and lover of the arts. He was an active alumni of Macalester College and the University of Minnesota.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to 4-H (
Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 27, from 4-6 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy, West 50th St. and Hwy. 100, Edina. Memorial service will be Monday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6901 Normandale Road, Edina.
