Bus trip to Glensheen Mansion
East Central Regional Library will offer a one-day bus trip to historic Glensheen Mansion in Duluth, leaving from the Giese Memorial Library at 8:55 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24. Built between 1905 and 1908, Glensheen was donated to the University of Minnesota in 1979, with the Congdon family collection intact. Evening at The Birthplace
A free resource fair for expectant women will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 at Fairview Lakes Medical Center, 5200 Fairview Blvd. At 5:30 and 6:30 p.m., members of The Birthplace care team will offer information about labor, delivery, breast feeding and child safety seats. Plant a bulb to honor loved ones
The Fairview Lakes Auxiliary will host a service of remembrance at 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, at Fairview Lakes Medical Center, 5200 Fairview Blvd. Families remember those who have died during the past year in a Fairview facility by planting a spring-blooming bulb in the memorial gardens. Ladies Night Out at Fairview Lakes
Women are invited for free health screenings, information sessions and food from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Fairview Lakes Medical Center, 5200 Fairview Blvd. Walk-in mammograms and skin cancer screening begin at 4:30 p.m. Bring insurance card for flu shots and mammograms offered at regular fees. Physicians, a physical therapist and a breast cancer survivor will speak at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. The pharmacy and gift shop will offer a 20 percent discount.
