Robert E. Sonmor, age 72, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
Bob had a love for telling stories and jokes, using his talent to make people laugh and brighten their day. He had a way of including everyone in everything he did, making sure they felt special in their own way.
Bob spent a lot of his time restoring antique vehicles, one of his many and most important interests. He loved to travel, seeing the farmland and meeting people from all walks of life. Bob was proud to say that he had seen and done everything he had ever wanted to do in life.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Roy and Lillian Reese; brother, Richard Sonmor; sister, Dawn Odneal.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Verna; daughters, Kim (Michael) Woehl, Debbie (Jeff) Freedlund, and Leanne (Tony) Graf; sister, Linda (Bob) Stutt; brother, Tom Adamson; sister-in-law, Patty Sonmor; special nephew, Donald Odneal; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 25 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
