Safe Halloween event at the fire hall
The Scandia Fire Department and Elim Church will host a Safe Halloween party from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 at the Fire Hall, 15040 Scandia Trail (TH-97). Bonfire, games, hot dogs and hot chocolate.
Halloween dance for seniors
Jim Armstrong will provide music for the Halloween senior dance from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 at the East Bethel Senior Community Center, one mile east of TH-65 on 221st Avenue. $5 includes lunch. Call 763-434-7492 for more information.
Music concert to benefit church
Tasha and Ben Montzka will present a violin and piano concert at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 31075 Genesis Ave. Featuring music by Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Kreutzer, Chopin and Joplin. Tasha Montzka is a student of Aaron Janse, and Ben Montzka was a student of Linda Groeneweg. The concert is a benefit for St. John’s Lutheran Church.
East Suburban Resources carnival of hope
A fund-raising event to support adults with developmental disabilities will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 at Dellwood Country Club, 29 E. Highway 96. Food, raffles, carnival games, live auctions and music by Charlie Ohlmann’s Aces and 88’s Dueling Pianos. $50; call 651-351-0190 for tickets. East Suburban Resources, a 501c3 nonprofit agency with a location in Forest Lake, serves the employment and community integration needs of adults with developmental disabilities and other special needs.
Gift expo at St. Genevieve’s
The Church of St. Genevieve will host a gift expo with crafts, a trade show and silent auction from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Parish Community Center, 6995 Centerville Rd. For more information call Sharon Dahlke at 651-426-1818.
Girls Night Out planned for Nov. 9
Enjoy music, food and socializing from 6 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Coon Lake Community Center, 182 Forest Rd. $10 donation at the door, plus wine tasting for $2, feathers for $5, photo booth for $3 and massage for $8. Vendors include jewelry, oils, purses and Pure Romance. Proceeds contribute to the success of the Coon Lake Community Center.
Pancake breakfast Nov. 10
Pancakes, French toast, sausage, juice and coffee will be served from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the East Bethel Community Center, 1 mile east of TH-65 on 221st Ave. $5 for adults and $2 for children under 10. Add $.50 for a scrambled egg.
