Woodbury drops swimmers in final dual

The Forest Lake swimming and diving team traveled to Woodbury for its final regular-season dual meet against Woodbury last Thursday. The Rangers lost to the Royals, 97.5-80.5.

Junior Rachel Chatwin was the lone individual who placed first for Forest Lake, earning six points for her squad in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56:39.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of junior Josephine Hudoba, sophomore Emma Dolby, Chatwin and eighth-grader Kenzie Klein out-touched two Royals teams by more than a second to take the top spot with a time of 1:48.27.

Woodbury claimed the first two spots in all other events, causing the Royals to stop competing for points following the 200-yard freestyle relay. In the final event, the 400-yard freestyle relay, sophomore Andrea Dunrud, junior Kristin Stomberg, junior Rocci Wohlk and Klein finished first for Forest Lake with a time of 4:03.82.

The Rangers went 1-8 in dual meets this fall. Next, Forest Lake will compete in the Section 7AA preliminaries starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Northdale Middle School in Coon Rapids, with the section finals taking place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
