Forest Lake

AMERICAN LEGION POST 225, at 355 W Broadway Ave., hosts a senior dance on the third Friday of the month from 1-4 p.m. Enjoy mature music and camaraderie. A $4 price includes lunch. Drinks available at the bar. For more information, call 651-464-2600.

The FOREST LAKE SENIOR CENTER is located at 767 SW Fourth St. in Forest Lake. Membership is $15 per person. The building is accessible to persons with disabilities. Hours are Monday to Thursday from 9 to 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

A legal assistant from Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services provides free assistance and advice in civil matters to residents ages 60 and up. To make an appointment call 651-222-4731.

A potluck lunch for ages 55 and up is served on the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $4, or free for those who bring a dish to share.

A birthday luncheon for ages 55 and up is served on the third Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $5.  Call by Monday to reserve a spot.

A non-certifying CPR and defibrillator class will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24. Led by 22-year CPR/first aid/AED instructor Cindi Gervais using table tops (not floors). Woodcarving for all ages is offered free from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, October through April. Painting Pals for all skill levels is held Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mediums used include watercolors, acrylics and oil. Cost is $1.

The American Sewing Guild meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m. Cost is $2.

Knitting and crocheting for all ages and skill levels is offered at no charge on the first and third Friday of each month from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Duplicate Bridge is offered from 9:30 to 12:30 a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month, September through May. Must bring a partner.

Dominoes for all ages is held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $1.

East Bethel

The EAST BETHEL SENIOR CENTER is located at 2241 NE 221st Ave., one mile east of Highway 65 on 221st Avenue. The center is available to rent for parties, banquets, and receptions. Call 763-434-6179 for more information.

The COLUMBUS SENIOR CENTER, located at 16321 Kettle River Blvd. NE, is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Home-cooked meals are served at noon on Tuesday and Thursday and include entrée, salad, bread, and dessert. Cost is $5. Call 651-464-8463 for more information.
