Help make the holidays warmer for young Chisago County residents this year with the gift of a book.
The “Giving Tree” supports children in need and spreads the joy of reading. This year the annual collection of books begins Nov. 29.
Here’s how it works:
1. Select a tag from the tree at the library.
2. Purchase a new book for the child identified on the tag.
3. Bring the unwrapped book, with the tag, to the library by Wednesday, Dec. 11.
All four libraries of the East Central Regional Library are participating: Rush City, North Branch, Chisago Lakes and Wyoming. The Wyoming Area Library began this project five years ago. Chisago Lakes joined three years ago, and Rush City and North Branch are coming on board this year.
Books received will be given to the Chisago County Health and Human Services for distribution to young Chisago County residents. Monetary donations will be used to purchase books for donation.
