One week left to bid at Community Helping Hand silent auction

The fifth annual holiday silent auction goes until Dec. 21 at Community Helping Hand in Forest Lake.

The auction is a major fund-raiser for the food shelf. Proceeds are used to pay for holiday meals the pantry provides at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The silent auctions raised $1,507 last year, up $465 from the year before.

Bidding began on Monday, Dec. 2 and will end at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21.  Santa will also be at Community Helping Hand on the Dec. 21 to enjoy milk and cookies with kids young and old.

Many items up for bid make great Christmas gifts. There are Minnesota team apparel packages, wines, purses, craft baskets and perfumes. Gift certificates donated by local businesses include Vannelli’s by the Lake, Friar Tucks Pub, Village Inn, Key’s Café, Culvers, Subway, Wendy’s, Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, and BP.

Community Helping Hand is located at 408 15th Street SW (behind Target).

Gift certificates at local restaurants are one of the silent auction packages offered at Community Helping Hand.
