Volunteers scrubbed potatoes in preparation for the annual Gammelgården Museum lutfisk dinner served at Elim Lutheran Church on Thursday, Nov. 21. More than 550 people paid $18 apiece to take part in this annual feast.

Amelia Miles of Stillwater, 1, sampled the cod at the annual Faith Lutheran Church Lutefisk and Meatball Dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 3 in Forest Lake.  Nearly 500 were served at the dinner, sponsored by the Men of Faith. A bake and craft sale was also held by the WELCA group at Faith.

Andrea Dunrud of Forest Lake will advance to the national Make It with Wool competition. Dunrud won the junior division for ages 13 to 16 at the Minnesota contest held in Ottertail on Nov. 16. Contestants must use fabric or yarn of at least 60 percent wool.

Andrew Miron of Hugo  received a $500 Al Christopherson Scholarship from the Minnesota Farm Bureau Foundation during the Minnesota Farm Bureau’s 95th annual conference on Nov. 22. The son of Fran and Mary Ann Miron, Andrew is a junior at the University of Minnesota majoring in animal science and agriculture education.
