Worth a Trip

I recently visited the Pine County History Museum in Askov, Minn., just off Minnesota 23, the scenic road to Duluth.

Anyone who’s heading up north for a weekend or a visit I would encourage to take Minnesota 23 and stop by the museum. It’s in the old H.C. Andersen Middle School, which is huge and it’s just full of the history of Pine County and our pioneering forefathers. From lumbering, farming, the Sandstone quarry, pioneer life to a Main Street replica, this museum will keep you enthralled for hours.

If you get hungry there’s The Little Mermaid Café right inside the museum with good food at reasonable prices. Hours of operation for the museum and café are available at www.pinecountyhistorymuseum.org.

This is truly a gem of a place to visit at a reasonable price to take a walk back in history.

Grateful Grocers

On behalf of the Forest Lake wrestling team, its managers, coaches and parents: Thank you, Forest Lake.

As our wrestlers and managers bagged groceries at Cub Foods on Saturday, Nov. 23 for a service opportunity and fundraiser, this community generously demonstrated its support and encouragement.

This means the world to this local team. You do make a difference. We appreciate you.
