Scandia peace team stuffs stockings for soldiers

Five boxes of good food, fun games, warm gloves and handy phone cards are heading to U.S. military troops overseas, thanks to the Scandia Elementary Peace Team.

The students organized the drive, donated items and created home-made Christmas cards to ship with the gifts.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Majeski delivered the boxes to American Legion Club Post 620 in Hugo, which paid for shipping.

Peace Team advisors are Molly Nemec and Dave Seaburg.

Scandia Peace Team members organized a shipment of Christmas cheer for deployed members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
