FLHS hosts SEC music festival concert

The 2014 Suburban East Conference orchestra, band and choir concert will be held at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3 in the Forest Lake High School gymnasium, 6101 Scandia Trail N. $6 for adults, $4 for K-12 students and seniors.

Quilts of Valor sewing for soldiers

On Feb. 1, Forest Lake Memorial Quilters will join with others across America to sew for combat service members and veterans touched by war. Working at American Legion Post 225, local seamstresses will assemble quilts for the Quilts of Valor National Foundation. Over the years the club has donated 120 quilts to wounded soldiers.

Free tax help at City Hall

AARP will offer tax preparation services for low- to moderate-income taxpayers age 60 and up from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from Feb. 4 to Apr. 15 at Forest Lake City Hall, 220 N. Lake Street. Appointments required at 651-675-7126.

Musical coming to Hosanna

MOST fundraiser set for Feb. 8

A spaghetti dinner and silent auction to raise funds for the MOST of Us campaign against drug abuse will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the VFW, 556 SW 12th St. Buy $10 tickets at FLHS, Century or SWJH, LAYSB, police department or Rapid Press. Ages 0-6 eat free.
