FL boys on four-game losing streak

After falling 64-54 on the road at Hastings last Wednesday, the Forest Lake boys basketball team returned home on Friday night to host East Ridge.

Forest Lake put up a fight in the first half, and trailed just 39-35 at the break.

But the Raptors found a way into the lane early in the second half and soon pulled away with a 46-39 lead after just three minutes.

Forest Lake remained scoreless for seven minutes until junior Avery Morse drove for a right-handed lay in to put the score at 53-41, but the effort was too late as the Raptors’ hot streak continued. East Ridge won 76-54.

Sophomore Noah Alm led with 16 points, followed by junior Connor Knutson with 13 points. Morse contributed 10 points, while senior Justin Waterman added four.

Forest Lake is 5-15 overall and 2-11 in the Suburban East Conference. The Rangers have six regular-season games remaining, five of which are conference matchups.

Next, the Ranger host Stillwater at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7 before taking on Duluth East at 2 p.m. at home on Saturday.
