Wolf Creek marks National School Choice week

Wolf Creek Online High School kicked off National School Choice week with a community open house on Saturday, Jan. 25.

Visitors enjoyed cookies and hot cocoa while viewing the online curriculum options and touring the physical campus on Liberty Lane in Chisago City.

“Wolf Creek is the school of choice for 120 students,” special education teacher Martha Airhart said. “Our personalized and flexible online education prepares students for future success.” Airhart organized the open house.

School director Tracy Quarnstrom noted that Minnesota is known for its commitment to school choice, including open enrollment, post-secondary education option and charter schools.

“Students in Minnesota should be proud to have so many options when finding a school to fit their unique needs,” Quarnstrom said.

The local alternative school celebrated options in education for a week, with students and staff wearing bright yellow scarves.

Wolf Creek Online High School enrolls students in grades 9 to 12, offering full-time or part-time enrollment.

Campus tours are held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or by appointment at 651-213-2095 or triowolfcreek.com.
