A full auditorium cheered and whistled at Forest Lake High School’s fifth-annual Rangers Have Talent Show last Thursday. Sixteen student entries, ranging from solos to four-member bands, entertained with music and dancing.
Pianist Meg Maurer won top prize for her performance of Chopin’s Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor, known as the “Revolutionary Étude.” Marimba-player Mack Steinberg earned second place and Bri Flasch’s song and dance took third.
The show, put on by the school’s National Honor Society members, raised $8,000 over its first four years for Rangers Helping Rangers, a fund that provides financial assistance for activity fees to students in need.
Students Jarod Bowers, Thomas Gadbois and Hannah Mack served as emcees, along with English teacher Craig Zimanske.
