Sixth Medallion Hunt clue unveiled

 The 2014 Flake Festival Medallion Hunt began Saturday, Feb. 15. The medallion is hidden in a Forest Lake park. (Lakeside Memorial Park and Fenway Athletic Park are not eligible.) This year’s winner will need to have a Flake Festival button in order to claim the prize of a $200 check and a gift package valued at $300 that has been put together by local businesses. Buttons can be purchased at the Forest Lake Area Chamber of Commerce office at 568 S. Lake St. and at many local businesses.

Daily clues are being posted at 8 a.m. until the medallion is found.

Clue No. 1: Saturday, Feb. 15
A plan that would stick,
We decided to pick,
Olympics for this FLake Fest’s theme.

Read wisely and then you,
can pick the right venue.
Your victory’s not just a dream.


Clue No. 2: Sunday, Feb. 16
Gold, silver and such,
Would be lovely to touch,
But they aren’t the prize for this race.

The one we’ve hid here,
Is not colored, but clear,
There’s no prize if you get second place.


Clue No. 3: Monday, Feb. 17
Don’t break with tradition,
Find this new edition,
And laugh all the way to the bank.

There’s no shortage of snow,
This year, as we know,
Push through and you’ll have me to thank.


Clue No. 4: Tuesday, Feb. 18
Finding joy in the frozen,
This year we’ve chosen,
A place that will make you dig in.

Don’t trust your eyes,
To discover this prize,
Get out there, it’s time to begin.


Clue No. 5: Wednesday, Feb. 19
In Sochi the rings,
are iconic things,
Showing, not one, but all six.

A similar scheme,
Can be found at this scene,
One of few that can show the same mix.


Clue No. 6: Thursday, Feb. 20
If love of the game,
Is calling your name,
Get out there to see what you see.

It’s not in the sand,
But you will need a hand,
To get from point A to point B.
