Linwood board approves adult business ordinance

Township to set 2015 budget at annual meeting March 11

At the Feb. 25 Linwood Town Board meeting, attorney Mike Haag presented in final form Ordinance No. 148, Regulation of Adult Use Establishments. The board approved the 21-page ordinance and publication of the three-page summary.

This becomes Chapter 8, Part 10, of Linwood’s Building and Land Use Ordinance. The vote was 4-0. Supervisor Mike Halliday did not attend the meeting.

In other news, Knife River Corporation was awarded the 2014 street maintenance contract in the amount of $227,635. Of this, $21,090 is to complete road shoulder work in Lyons Den Development. Approval was 4-0.

The Linwood Township annual meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 11. Residents are encouraged to attend, since the levy and budget for 2015 will be set. Supervisors are proposing a budget of $1.76 million. The goal is to keep the levy at $1.5 million, the same as for 2014.
