Pie throw, fish fry to support Legion’s July 4 bash

The American Legion’s seventh annual fish fry and pie-throwing fundraiser for its Fourth of July celebration is set for 5-8 p.m. Friday, March 7. A live auction and throwing of the pies will begin at 6:30 p.m. and run throughout the dinner. Among the  good sports signed up to be on the receiving end of the fun are Minnesota Rep. Bob Dettmer, Mayor Chris Johnson, Police Chief Rick Peterson, Council Member Susan Young, American Legion Commander Ted DeGraw, VFW Commander Roger Fredsall and Ron Vannelli from Vannelli’s By The Lake. The meal costs $8 and is one of the main fundraisers for the Legion-sponsored Fourth of July celebration.

  • I think a rotten tomato toss at the mayor would be more enjoyable…

Agreed, along with the Forest Lake Fire Chief by his side….

The Mayor helping out with a community fundraiser and you want to throw “rotten tomato(e)s” at him – real classy Eric Langness, real classy
Really quite sad Mr. Eric Langness when someone’s partisan politics runs so deep that the mayor cannot even participate in a humorous fundraiser that benefits the whole community without receiving your snarky comments
In Mr. Langness’s world, something good is still something bad (if Mr. Eric Langness disagrees with you on any issue)
Maybe you should volunteer for the pie throw; instead of a pie, people could throw Sour Grapes

My guess (after seeing all your nasty comments about the mayor) is you don’t understand humor or can’t admit you were more serious than not (commented without thing it through, your gut reaction is my guess)

Fits right in with your (perennial politician’s) standard operating procedure; saying something but indicating you were misunderstood, taken out of context or (as usual) attack people who hold you accountable for your nasty remarks.
Shall we go back and refresh your memory of things you have said about the Mayor in the not to distant past?
