Rangers drop two to end regular season

The Forest Lake girls basketball team closed its regular season last week with a pair of losses at the hands of White Bear Lake and Cretin-Derham Hall.

In the 55-47 loss to the Suburban East Conference-champion Bears last Tuesday, senior Miranda Rice led the Rangers with 14 points, followed by senior Bailey Norby with 12 points. Junior Hanna Vidlund added six points.

Forest Lake fell 68-63 at Cretin-Derham Hall Friday night, despite four Rangers scoring in double digits. Vidlund led the offense with 20 points, followed by senior Emily Peters with 15. Senior Anna Eckert contributed 13 points, while Norby added 11.

Forest Lake finished third in the conference, behind White Bear Lake and Park, at 13-5, and went 18-8 overall. It earned the second seed in Section 7AAAA behind Anoka, and will host seventh-seeded St. Francis at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 6.
