The first thing a reader sees is the cover of the book. It must be compelling and at the same time reflect the genre, indicate the intended age group and hint at what’s inside.
At the Northern Lights Writers April 19 program, graphic designer Christopher Edmund will tell authors and potential authors what constitutes a great cover.
Edmund will also discuss why authors need a great cover from a marketing standpoint, and what they should expect to spend on images, layout and design.
The meeting will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Giese Memorial Library, 26855 Forest Blvd. in Wyoming.
Guests are also invited to come for breakfast and conversation beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Village Inn, 4848 E. Viking Blvd.
Northern Lights Writers supports writers by offering mentoring, industry updates, craft workshops, guest speakers and critiques.
