Mariah Daninger of Forest Lake was awarded a $1,500 scholarship from the Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council. Daninger will study Agricultural Education at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities starting in September.
The leadership council is awarding a total of $30,000 to incoming and current students to study agricultural education at the University of Minnesota’sTwin Cities and Crookston campuses and at Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
Over the past 15 years, nearly $430,000 in scholarships has been given to agricultural education students.
Established in 1997 by the Minnesota legislature, the leadership council includes 16 educators, legislators, government officials, and agribusiness and community organization representatives. The council represents all major institutions and groups in Minnesota with an interest in agricultural education and serves as a focal point for initiatives to improve agricultural education.
