Pet supplies drive

To help the Northwoods Humane Society animal shelter, donated pet food, cleaning supplies, office supplies and gift cards will be accepted through Saturday, April 19 at the Giese Memorial Wyoming, 26855 Forest Blvd.


Home-school programs

Naturalists will provide programs for grades 1-2 (birds and geese), 3-5 (water cycles) and 6-12 (bees) from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 17 at Wargo Nature Center, 7701 Main St. $4 + tax. Call 651-429-8007.


Artists’ Saturdays

Area artists talk about their art on Saturdays at Gustav’s Up North Gallery, 13025 Lake Blvd. On April 19, at 11 a.m. Christine Tanata will show semi-precious stone jewelry with integrated wire and at 1 p.m. Nancy Heacox will show ribbon necklaces with bead clasps. Benefit for Christopher Schlemmer

A benefit will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, April 19 at the Withrow Ballroom, 12169 Keystone Ave. for 1-year-old Christopher Schlemmer, who was recently diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder.


Shoe clinic

Diabetic Shoe Source will measure feet for therapeutic shoes from noon to 3 p.m. on Monday, April 21 at the Linwood Senior Center, 22817 Typo Creek Drive. Medicare, Ucare, Humana, Medica, and MN Medical Assistance cover one pair of shoes per year. Call 651-462-5565.

Cancer benefit

A pancake breakfast, bake sale and bazaar will be held for former Stacy resident Sue Nagel from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 26 at Applebee’s, 13625 60th St. Nagel was diagnosed with cancer in 2013. Adults $12, kids $6.


4-H fundraiser
