Ironman Bicycle Ride to roll through Scandia April 27

The Minnesota Ironman Bicycle Ride is expected to again bring hundreds of riders through Scandia on Sunday, April 27.

The famous event relocated to Washington County and the St. Croix River Valley last year. Its 47-year history makes it the longest-running organized bike ride in the state.

Four routes are planned for 2014. Each starts at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Lake Elmo. Scandia’s loop is the longest, at 58 miles. Riders will start the loop by 9:30 a.m., and the rest stop in Scandia will close by noon.

Registration is open at www.IronmanBikeRide.org. Youth and team registration options are available.
