The duo of Bill Cagley on guitar, mandolin, bodhran and limberjack and Stu Janis playing hammered dulcimer and bowed psaltery is known as Greenwood Tree.

The two will play for “Music for All Ages,” a community event sponsored by Hosanna Lutheran Church.

The concert will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, June 26, followed by a salad and dessert buffet. Hosanna is located at 9300 Scandia Trail in Forest Lake.

Musical partners since 1985, Cagley and Janis offer lively traditional Celtic-flavored jigs and reels, sweet waltzes and American folk songs with melodies deftly traded between instruments.

The combination of Stu’s sprightly dulcimer with Bill’s driving flat-picked Martin guitar provides energy for quick dance tunes. Slower selections are enhanced by dulcimer arpeggios and a finger-picked guitar.

You may also see concertina in a Greenwood Tree performance.

Expect some sing-alongs.

Tickets, which are $10 for adults and $5 for children, include the concert and buffet lunch. Make reservations by calling Hosanna Lutheran Church at 651-464-5502.
