AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
THE CITY OF COLUMBUS
CHAPTER 3 PLANNING COMMISSION
The City Council of the City of Columbus ordains the following:
SECTION I. CHAPTER 3 –
PLANNING COMMISSION is hereby amended by the following changes to Sections 3-100 and 3-101 of the Columbus City Code:
SECTION 3-100. COMPOSITION. The Planning Commission for the City of Columbus shall be composed of seven (7) five (5) members appointed by the City Council. Planning Commissioners and Members of the Planning Commission are synonymous titles. In addition, one (1) member of the Columbus City Council shall serve on the Planning Commission as a non-voting Council Liaison as described in the Planning Commission Bylaws.
SECTION 3-101. TERMS.
Appointments of Planning Commissioners are staggered in order to ensure continuity and consistency. Of the members first appointed, two (2) regular members shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year, two (2) for a term of two (2) years, and three (3) for a term of three (3) years. Thereafter, tThe term of each member shall be three (3) years and until a successor is appointed and qualified. Any member may be removed by the City Council for conduct contrary to the best interests of the public as set forth in the Planning Commission Bylaws.
SECTION II. Effective Date.
This Ordinance was adopted by the Columbus City Council on this 25th day of June, 2014 and shall become effective after its publication.
