Ruth Lindberg, age 96 passed away peacefully on July 2, 2014.Lindberg, main
Ruth was born on St. Pattys Day 1918 in the upstairs bedroom of the Magnuson farm, west of Scandia, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church.

She graduated FLHS in 1936; attended the U of M, MacPhail School of Music 1936-1938. Ruth was married Oct. 15, 1938 to Randolph Lindberg and farmed from 1938 1956. She was the secretary for Elim Lutheran Church 1956 1963. Her work history also includes: Farmers Acceptance 1963-65, Chisago Lakes Hospital Treasurer 1965-66, 3M St Paul AR 196684, and Country Messenger 1990 97. Ruth loved her home on Oakhill Road North and her favorite pastimes were visits and phone conversations with her many family and friends whom she loved so much. Ruth felt that Elim Lutheran Church fulfilled her spiritual needs and guided her through her passing into heaven in a wonderful manner.
God blessed her with a good memory and provided her with the oppo
rtunity to say thank you to all the people who meant so much to her. A special thanks to her brother and family, Howard and Audrey and her cousin and neighbor and his family, Lowell and Kathy Isaacson for always being there for her; ready to help in anyway.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, A. Edward and Emma (Isaacson) Hawkinson; brothers, Howard Hawkinson and Edward Hawkinson and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Steven E. (Judith) Lindberg and James R. (Kristen) Lindberg; grandchildren and great grandchildren: David E. Lindberg; Sara (Greg) Lindberg Ciesla and their children Maeve and Charles; Jeffrey B. (Karen) Lindberg and their son Jerrod; Rebecca (Rob) Lindberg Brunette and their children Isabelle and Danielle; sister-in-law, Audrey Julien Hawkinson; many loving nieces, nephews and their families and friends throughout her life.
Funeral service 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 5th at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail North, Scandia, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment Elim Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Elim Lutheran Church.Ruth Lindberg
