The Forest Lake Brewers baseball team remains on top of the Metro Minny League standings at 11-0 after another solid week of play. 

The Brewers traveled to Blaine on Sunday, third in league standings at 9-2, and defeated the Fusion 4-1. 

Bub Lovas earned the win on the mound with eight innings pitched. He gave up five hits and struck out four batters in the victory. Brent Kolbow led the offense, going 2-4, while Dylan Dresel drove in two runs off a double. Eight different batters recorded hits for the Forest Lake offense.

Last Wednesday, Forest Lake posted an 11-1 home win in seven innings over Big Lake. Dave Guarke got the win, giving up four hits and striking out four batters before Ryan Anderson sealed the deal in the seventh inning by striking out all three batters for the White Caps. 

Kolbow, Adam Gemuenden and Trip Schultz all went 3-4 at the plate. 

Two days later, the Brewers were at it again, this time handing the Champlin LoGators their sole league loss of the year, 12-2. 

Mike Swenson was the winning pitcher, giving up two hits and striking out five in five innings. Jed Hanson led the Brewers from the plate with three hits, including an RBI and double, while Dresel and Jeff Brooks both went 2-3. 

Next, Forest Lake travels to St. Michael for a 7:30 p.m. game against the Hamel Hawks on Thursday, July 17.
