Post 4210 ends year at 26-7

Kevin Hildreth delivers a pitch earlier this season. The Forest Lake VFW baseball boys ended a stellar season last week after falling in the third round of postseason play. Forest Lake lost 2-1 to Centennial last Friday, then turned around to beat Coon Rapids, 3-1, on Saturday. Luke Wallner got the win, pitching seven innings while striking out 10 batters and giving up one unearned run. Post 4210 faced Maple Grove on Sunday, but fell 11-8 in the elimination game where two Forest Lake starters were injured. Head coach Kale Henry said despite the injuries, his kids “fought hard and played to the end, a quality of the team all season long.” Forest Lake finished 2014 with a regular-season division title and overall record of 26-7, the best record in Henry’s 10-year coaching tenure at Post 4210.
