Northern Lights Writers to teach marketing skills

The final presentation in the Northern Lights Writers summer program series, “The 3 P’s for Writers,” will be promotion.

These days, after a book is written and an avenue for publication found, the author is expected to market the book. This is true whether it is published in print with a traditional publisher, as an e-book or self-published.

Authors and potential authors are welcome to  hear which promotion techniques are most effective and affordable, including use of social media.

The presentation will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday,  Aug. 16 at the Wyoming Area Giese Memorial Library.

Guests are also invited to come before the meeting for breakfast and writing-related conversation beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Village Inn in Wyoming.

This the third in a series. In June, Northern Lights Writers presented a session on product: craft techniques for best writing. The July topic was publish: how to find an agent and editor, plus independent printing and e-books.

Northern Lights Writers, formed in 2002, offers workshops, guest speakers and critiques to support its members.

Meetings are held from 10 a.m. to noon on the third Saturday of the each month at the Giese Memorial Library. For more information, visit
