Prominent Scandia Lion dead, Forest Lake woman in critical condition after crash (UPDATED with funeral information)

A 68-year-old man who was a prominent member of the Scandia – Marine Lion’s Club died at the scene of a two-vehicle crash in the 10000 block of Manning Avenue North in Stillwater Township on Dec. 22. A Forest Lake woman was critically injured. Though the crash occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Monday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office released information about the identities of both people in the crash today.

Jerry Lee Johnson, 68, of May Township, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. His vehicle had collided with another driven by Kaia Page Kroll, 20, of Forest Lake. She was hospitalized with serious injuries and was in critical condition, according to a late morning release by the sheriff’s office. Neither driver had any passengers in their vehicles.

Visitations will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 29 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and also from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 30 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Tr. N., Scandia. The funeral will follow the Elim visitation.
