Linwood Elementary is hosting an Academic Fair for their students from 6 to 8 p.m. March 26 and is inviting the public to attend. The event is co-sponsored by Design Ready Controls, a local twin-cities company who engineers and manufactures industrial and commercial electrical equipment.
The faculty and staff of Linwood elementary invites all current Linwood students to participate in the Academic Fair by submitting a project of their choice in one of the following categories: Science and Technology, Visual Arts, History, Geography, Current Events, or Creative Writing. All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Second grade teacher Mary Tenjack is the chair of the Academic Fair committee. Several parent volunteers on the committee who work at Design Ready Controls mentioned the idea of corporate co-sponsorship of this year’s Academic Fair. The committee approached Linwood Principal James Caldwell and Design Ready Controls Vice President Mitch DeJong with this idea and were met with enthusiastic agreement.
Design Ready Controls loaned 30 educational electronic snap kits to Linwood elementary. These kits will be used by parent volunteers in various classrooms to teach students the fundamentals of everyday electric circuits in technology.
Linwood Elementary is located at 2100 Typo Creek Dr., Linwood. More information can be found at http://lw.flaschools.org/.
