Ralph Gatzow, age 91, of Forest Lake, Minnesota passed peacefully on September 21, 2016.

Ralph was born and raised on the family farm in Wyoming, MN. He owned and operated Suburban Taping Service working in and around the Forest Lake / Wyoming area for over 50 years.

His passions were vegetable gardening, Polka dancing, traveling, fishing, goose and duck hunting. Above all, his grandchildren trumped everything with being #1. About the only thing he did not complete on his bucket list was his trip to Alaska.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Genevieve (Marier) Gatzow; sister, Vivian Franta; infant brother; son-in-law, Phil Barnier.

He is survived by his three children, Keith (Deb), Connie (Chuck) Belland, Cindy Barnier; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild.

Ralph….also known as the family’s “Farmer’s Almanac”, will be greatly missed by his dear friends and family.

Family will greet friends 4-7 p.m., Friday, September 30, at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Dr., Forest Lake, MN with a Memorial Service held at 6:30 p.m. Private interment at Linwood Cemetery, Linwood, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
