Miller and Stevens will be hosting Coach bus transportation to the boys state hockey tournament March 10 with the bus departing at 4 p.m. from 92 S. Lake St. The game ticket is not included. Please RSVP to [email protected] or call 651-462-0206.
Family history day
The Hardwood Creek Library will host a family history day March 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring photo and memorabilia scanning, free family portraits, a seminar on preserving your digital memories (11 a.m.), local stories told by Brent Peterson of the Washington County Historical Society (1 p.m.), and a seminar on geneaology basics (2 p.m.). Lose weight, stop smoking, and relieve stress
Health Awareness Clinics will be conducting two free to the public hypnosis seminars. The first free seminar (a donation of $5 is appreciated) will be at 6:30 p.m. March 14 at the library located at 224 3rd St. N in Stillwater. The second free seminar will be held in Forest Lake March 15 at the VFW located at 556 12th St. SW. Anyone 16 and older is welcome to attend.
The Forest Lake Area High School Student Council will be hosting its inaugural Semi-formal/Formal Dress Swap on March 17 from 5-7 p.m. in the school’s cafeteria. Items that the council is looking for are dresses and ties that can be used for dances. Credits of $10 and $20 will be given to anyone who donates an item and would like to shop at the event that night. Dresses are expected to cost no more than $50. Anyone with clothing they’d like to contribute should email [email protected] with their name and what they dropped off so that they can receive a credit slip or to arrange another drop off/pick up time. All proceeds from the swap will be donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Minnesota.
The annual Forest Lake FFA Chapter Banquet will be held on March 23 at Forest Lake High School with a social beginning at 6 and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Former members, guests, and community supporters are invited to attend. Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the door. Please RSVP online at www.ForestLakeFFA.org.
The Forest Lake Drumline Percussion Festival will be held March 25 at 6 p.m. at Forest Lake High School. This year’s festival will feature 13 indoor drumlines performing their newest shows in competition. Tickets are sold at the door, and concessions and souvenirs will be available during the festival. All proceeds support the Forest Lake Ranger Drumline and help fund their trip to Dayton, Ohio, for the Winter Guard International world drumline competition in April.
On March 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m, the Forest Lake Masonic Lodge, 119 8th Ave SE, will be putting on a smoked turkey booyah feed. They are also featuring the option of drive through ordering. The cost is $5 for a 16 oz. bowl.
Join East Metro Water Resource Education representatives June 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. and dip nets into the water to catch a closer look at the creatures that live in the lake and what they tell us about how clean our water is. Wear outdoor play attire and be prepared to take an easy hike along paved trails. This event is free and open to all ages. Youth must be accompanied by an adult.
