AN ORDINANCE ADDING HOUSING ORDINANCE FOR RENTAL PROPERTY, SECTIONS 1-9, PART 9, OF CHAPTER V, REGULATIONS AND LICENSING, OF THE LINWOOD TOWN CODE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 23rd day of May 2017, a new ordinance entitled HOUSING ORDINANCE FOR RENTAL PROPERTY was adopted by the Town Board of Linwood, Minnesota. Due to the lengthy content of the Ordinance, a brief Summary follows:
The intent of Ordinance 509, Sections 1-9, Part 9, of Chapter V of the Linwood Town Code, Linwood Township Housing Ordinance for Rental Property is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health and public welfare by regulating and controlling the use and occupancy, maintenance and repair of all buildings and structures within the Township used as rental housing. The purpose of this chapter is not to create or otherwise establish or designate any particular class or group of persons who will or should be especially protected or benefited by the terms of this chapter. Contents: 509.01 Purpose and Scope; 509.02 Construction and Definitions; 509.03 Rental Housing Licenses; 509.04 Requirements; 509.05 Responsibilities Defined; 509.06 Enforcement; 509.07 Appeal; 509.08 Criminal and Administrative Remedies; and 509.09 Licenses and Fees.
EFFECTIVE DATE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage and publication, as required by law. A copy of the Ordinance can be viewed during office business hours at the Town Hall. An additional copy of the Ordinance will also be on file at the Anoka Public Library and posted in the Township posting box.
