Youth mechanics needed

Community Editor

Tried and True Small Engines, a program stemming from the Lakes Center for Youth and Families, has openings for youth mechanics to take part in their training program. Interested students can pick from a Tuesday and Thursday session from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. or a Saturday session from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Each session is 72 hours over 12 to 18 weeks. The shop is located at 27540 Forest Blvd. in Wyoming.

No experience is necessary as students will be learning under the supervision of a professional mechanic. The only requirement is a desire to improve mechanical skill or an interest in joining the trades as a career.

Youth must be at least 15 years old, be available for the Tuesday and Thursday or Saturday session, come in for an interview, and make a commitment to the program if accepted.
