District building tours
Residents, parents, students, and school district staff are invited to a summer tour of Lino Lakes Elementary School Aug. 10 at 6 p.m.
Senior expo
A 30th anniversary expo will be held at the Forest Lake Senior Center, 767 4th St. SW., Aug. 9 and 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. both days. The event will showcase 30 years at the center. Snacks, beverages, door prizes, giveaways, and a silent auction will be available. The event is free. Various vendors will be on hand.
Live theater
Children’s Performing Arts will present “A Year with Frog and Toad” at Forest Lake High School Aug. 11 at 4 p.m. This performance features students in grades 1 to 12 as the culmination of their participation in summer camp in the CPA program.
Peter Pan prequel
Youth Performing Arts is running “Peter And The Starcatcher,” a play with music, for one weekend only, wrapping up its 18th season. Performances will be held at Forest Hills United Methodist Church, 1790 11th St. S.E., on Aug. 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 12 and 13 at 3 p.m.
Airport open house
The Forest Lake Airport Open House and EAA Young Eagles event will be held Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will have a chance to get up close to some planes and helicopters and meet some local pilots. There will be free airplane rides for kids 8 to 17 years old with registration at the event. Helicopter rides will also be available. Food and beverages will be served by the Forest Lake Lions Club with proceeds benefiting local charities. Daniela’s gelato will also be available. Financial peace
Faith Lutheran Church, 886 North Shore Dr. will host Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University beginning Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. The nine-week money management class can help guests become debt free, save for financial emergencies, and confidently plan for retirement.
