Aug. 15 will see fun and games for the younger set taking over Lakeside Memorial Park at 6 p.m. Featured acts include Magic Norm, the Dance Factory, the River City Cloggers, and Kid Power with Rachael.

Rachael Kroog of Kid Power with Rachael got her start performing throughout Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom singing and dancing and also played the part of Mary Poppins and Pluto during the Mickey Mouse parade. Rachael provides a blend of interactive guitar music, comedy, cartoon impressions, and juggling. Her high energy and fast paced shows also draw on her storytelling and theatrical techniques. Her various themes include the power of kindness, the value of respect, our spiritual connection to the earth and it’s animals, and the ability to make our dreams come true.

The River City Cloggers are a recreational group of dancers ranging in age from 5 years on up. They dance to a variety of styles of music such as country, bluegrass, Irish, pop, and rock and roll. The 50 member exhibition team performs throughout the year at many Minnesota and Wisconsin events.

The Dance Factory opened its doors for business in 1999. Its owner, Jennifer Tell, had a vision for a school that not only provided students with quality dance instruction, but that gave students a life experience. Several years later, with a growing student base, staff, and facility, The Dance Factory is holding true to that original vision. Students in Forest Lake are given team-building skills, confidence, lasting friendships, positive role models, and memorable experiences. The Dance Factory approach to teaching is about nurturing the individual qualities each student has to offer.

Comedian and magician Magic Norm provides his special brand of hands on magic on both the stage and as he strolls through the audience. Norm is well known throughout the metro as well as across the United States as he performs as a magician, comedian, and clown to often sold out crowds.
