In a unanimous vote on Thursday, Dec. 5, the Forest Lake Area School Board decided to go all out. The price tag to rearrange, repair and upgrade the district’s facilities will be $176 million – if the taxpayers agree.
Linwood Elementary Principal Roche Martin has been on leave since Sept. 25, and there is no set date for his return. The district has not released a reason for Martin’s leave, citing the Data Practices Act.
Raises for school district administrators were approved at the Dec. 5 board meeting. The two-year contracts for directors, principals and supervisors cover this school year (2013-2014) and next (2014-2015). Salary increases will be applied retroactively to July 1, 2013.
Laura Anton, an art teacher for Forest Lake Area Schools, last month received the Secondary Art Educator of the Year award.
