Voter defeat of the $176 million school facilities bond proposal on May 20 put a stop to the Forest Lake School Board’s plan to start repairing and improving all schools in the district in 2015. But repairs still need to be made.

It was built in 1961, and now it’s gone. The Forest Lake Area Schools bus garage roof began to give way under heavy, wet snow in February, and the insurance settlement is finally complete. The building has not been used in the meantime. Buses were parked outdoors or moved off-site. Photo submitted.
