Clarity is starting to emerge as the ISD 831 Board of Education
continues to look at its financial future and options to address needs
in the school district. A random scientific survey of 400 registered voters in the district has confirmed two key elements.
The district would have a good shot this November at passing an
operating levy of just under $4 million to head off additional budget
cuts. The district, however, has limited options regarding a property

Charise Kendrick (driver) and Constance Berger, both seniors at Forest Lake High School, were the victims of a mock car crash held in the north parking lot on Wednesday morning. Public safety personnel responded to the scene as if it were an actual vehicle accident. Agencies that took part include the Forest Lake Police Department, Forest Lake Fire and Rescue, North Memorial EMS staff, including ground ambulances and a North Air Care helicopter. The message was even more real when the Roberts Family Funeral Home hearse pulled up to the scene. The dramatization of a fatal car crash involving youth and alcohol is staged each year.
