Forest Lake Ford closes April 9; FL’s Big Dollar Store in last days

Wednesday, April 9 was the end of the line for Forest Lake Ford, 231 SW 19th St.

The car dealership officially went out of business last week and by Friday, most of the remaining inventory of cars and trucks had been hauled away.

More experts testify in Wyoming annexation trial

oe Rigdon of Kern, DeWinter, Viere, testified as a financial expert for Chisago City during the final days of the Wyoming annexation trial. Rigdon prepared a fiscal impact analysis for Chisago City, Wyoming and Wyoming Township annexation scenarios.

Rigdon made the “assumption that the township will no longer exist, no matter which way it goes.” Chisago City figures were presented as if the contested part of the township was combined into the city.  His Wyoming calculations assumed that Wyoming Township was merged in its entirely with the city of Wyoming.

Elmore keeps town board chair duties

Roger Elmore has retained the duties on town board chairman.

The first order of business at the April 8 meeting was reorganization of the board and Elmore was reelected chairman and Ron Swenson was reelected vice-chairman.

Severe weather week starts Monday
Public safety officials in Forest Lake will take part in Severe Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota April 21-25, Fire Chief Gary Sigfrinius has announced. The state tornado drill day will take place on Thursday, April 24. As part of the tornado drill day on April 24, outdoor warning sirens in Forest Lake will be sounded twice at 1:45 p.m. and 6:55 p.m. Sigfrinius said the 1:45 p.m. drill will be in partnership with schools in Forest Lake while the early evening drill will be an opportunity for the public to conduct home drills in preparation for the real thing.
