During the regular season, the Forest Lake girls basketball team did not lose to a section opponent.
The Rangers were 5-0 in those matchups and looking to make it six when Blaine stopped by for the opening round of the Section 7AAAA playoffs.

The boys basketball team had a rare Monday night game on March 3, and they traveled to Hastings with a bus full of players who were focused on securing another win before they had to face a skilled Mounds View squad on Friday.

Former Rangers reach NCAAs
Three Forest Lake graduates, representing three different regions, will compete at this week’s NCAA Ski Championships in Bozeman, Mont. Laura Edlund (‘04), who attends Gustavus Adolphus, qualified from the Central Region; University of New Hampshire’s Sarah Wright (‘05) comes out of the Eastern Region; and Ben Fick (‘06), a student/athlete at the University of Utah made it out of the Western Region.

Besides giving up the opening basket right from the jump, and being down very early in the first half, the Forest Lake boys basketball team (16-7, 8-5) controlled the tempo, mood and score in its 76-64 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall.
The Raiders entered Tuesday's contest ranked No. 3 in the polls, but on their home court, an extremely confident and well-coached Ranger squad looked like the superior team.
Brad Kopp (above) led Forest Lake in scoring with 24 points, and the Rangers were able to secure the victory by going 24-for-32 from the free throw line.
Head coach Dan Cremisino and his crew put their six-game winning streak up against visiting Park (7-16, 3-10) on Friday night.

Using last Thursday’s 60-49 victory over Stillwater as a vital piece of evidence, Forest Lake can confidently present its case as a legitimate team on Minnesota’s boys basketball landscape.
