Rangers get 2nd, 4th
The last squad to pull into the starting gate this spring was the Forest Lake girls golf team, which began the year by coming in fourth at the Hill Murray Invitational on Monday, and earning a second place at Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury on April 17.
LOOKING AHEAD: The Forest Lake girls golf team got off to a steady start, but Mallory Messin and her teammates plan on lowering their scores as the season goes on.

Early season track and field has its share of weather related issues, and then there are still the actual events to worry about.
Sloppy handoffs in relays or crossing into another lane can result in disqualifications, but those miscues should get corrected later in the spring.

Meet the softball team this Sunday
This Sunday, April 27, meet the Forest Lake Rangers softball team in the cafeteria of the high school. The event will run from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., and all youth softball players are invited to attend. Bring your glove, cleats and outdoor clothing.

The Suburban East Conference is already known to be fast and strong in boys track and field, and after what he saw at the White Bear Lake Relays on April 9, Forest Lake head coach Paul Kendrick thinks the SEC could be on the upswing in 2008.
MESSAGE SENT: Dillon Grant and his running mates (Dan Blaser, Dalton Keep and Mitch Koenig) blew past the competition in the 400-meter relay, winning handily in a time of 43.76.

Rangers rebound against Chisago Lakes
One of a handful of sporting events to actually see the light of day last week was the April 8 Forest Lake boys tennis match against Blaine.
GONE WITH THE WIND: In last week’s loss to Blaine, Spencer Conrad was up early against Bryce Johnson, but eventually lost, 6-4, 6-0. Conrad came back on Monday at Chisago Lakes and won his match, 6-1, 6-0.
