Boys look for third straight win at Park
If all goes according to plan, trends and history, the boys hockey team will be victorious on Thursday, when Forest Lake travels to Park.

HARD TO MISS: It’s easy to spot Cory Capra in the middle of so many Mounds View defenders, and it was easy for the junior forward to score from close range. Capra picked up the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win over the Mustangs.

Forest Lake downs Roseville, 54-51
When the girls basketball team lost so convincingly to White Bear Lake on Jan. 8, there were reasons to be a little concerned about a Forest Lake squad that had just dropped its third straight game.

The Forest Lake Nordic ski teams navigated an icy trail last Thursday at the SEC Classic race, where the boys finished the afternoon with 476 points and in first place, while the girls came in third.
WOHLK THIS WAY: Sophomore Mitch Wohlk took top honors at last week's Suburban East Conference race, posting a time of 15:24.

FLAFA cancels January meeting
The Forest Lake Fastpitch Association (FLAFA) holds its monthly meeting
on the third Thursday of each month at Stella's (formerly Dummys) at 7
p.m. The meeting scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 17 has been canceled. The
next meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 21.

The Forest Lake boys Alpine ski team is 2-0 in the Suburban East Conference standings, handily winning their first meets against Mounds View, 41-14, and Hastings, 40-15.
COMBO PLATTER: Shane Sampair’s extra training with the USSA program, combined with a big growth spurt, helped the freshman capture his first-ever conference win, against Hastings on Jan. 8.

The past six weeks have not been kind to the girls hockey team. As Forest Lake deals with an assortment of ailments, the Rangers have stumbled to a 3-8-1 record over the past 12 games.
UP AND DOWN AND OUT: The 4-2 setback against Mounds View was full of bad news for the girls hockey team, but Leah Crow and Forest Lake did pick up a win over Park to start the week.
