Softball team makes plans for state tourney
It took some time, effort and serious drama, but after a 5-3 victory over Chisago Lakes on May 29, the Forest Lake softball team is headed to North Mankato for the state tournament.
To get there, the Rangers needed all seven innings in their 1-0 semifinal win against Duluth Denfeld, and then had to regroup after falling to Chisago in Game One of the finals.
On Wednesday, May 28, Forest Lake defeated Denfeld in the bottom of the seventh, but a few hours later against Chisago Lakes, the girls couldn't match the final-inning rally and lost 2-1 to set up Thursday's deciding game.
The state tourney runs from Thursday, June 5 to Friday, June 6 at Caswell Par.
