Girls’ enjoy the road, win 2 straight in Suburban East

When Forest Lake faced Mounds View and Hastings in early December, the girls basketball team was able to pick up winshoopai.jpg No. 5 and 6 on the season. After the Rangers knocked off the same two schools last Tuesday and Friday, Forest Lake (12-6, 6-4) looks to keep another win streak in motion as they take on Cretin-Derham Hall, Park and Chisago Lakes this week.

Nordic ski teams glide in to Friday’s conference meet

lizzyp.jpgThis winter has been full of erratic temperatures, where as soon as it’s unbelievably cold, a 40 degree day has a brief layover on its way south. Though the weather and conditions haven’t held steady, the Forest Lake boys Nordic ski team has maintained its reliable, high standards.

All-around good time for gymnasts

Two days after the Forest Lake gymnasts wrapped up a 139.625 to 134.775 victory over Cretin-Derham Hall, the girls weregymej.jpg in Cambridge for the Bluejacket All-Around Invitational. As the name implies, instead of competing as a team, this competition focuses on awarding the gymnast with the top all-around score.


WELL ROUNDED: Esther Jandrich had little trouble dealing with the pressure of the Bluejacket Invitational, picking up personal best scores on two events, which led to a PB in the all-around.

Boys hockey knocks off Cretin-Derham Hall, 4-3

pmgoal.jpgDisregarding  their 7-2 setback (if that's possible) to No. 12 ranked Duluth East on Jan. 22, Forest Lake entered its game against Woodbury playing some of its best hockey of the season.

Stillwater may have won the boys swimming and diving meet, but Forest Lake head coaches Barbara Vailodash and Deb Welch were still pleased with the Rangers’ direction after the 103-81 loss.

Dreadful starts hinder Forest Lake boys basketball team
