FLAFA cancels January meeting

The Forest Lake Fastpitch Association (FLAFA) holds its monthly meeting on the third Thursday of each month at Stella's (formerly Dummys) at 7 p.m. The meeting scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 17 has been canceled. The next meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 21.

Alpine boys take first 2 meets; girls split

The Forest Lake boys Alpine ski team is 2-0 in the Suburban East Conference standings, handily winning their first meetsshaneski.jpg against Mounds View, 41-14, and Hastings, 40-15.

Rangers target healthy roster, winning ways

crowgh.jpgThe past six weeks have not been kind to the girls hockey team. As Forest Lake deals with an assortment of ailments, the Rangers have stumbled to a 3-8-1 record over the past 12 games.


UP AND DOWN AND OUT: The 4-2 setback against Mounds View was full of bad news for the girls hockey team, but Leah Crow and Forest Lake did pick up a win over Park to start the week.

Improvement continues for wrestlers

Just when the Forest Lake wrestling team was showing noticeable improvement, the Rangers had to follow up a homewrestlingbk.jpg match against Woodbury last Thursday, with a trip to No. 6 ranked Anoka on Friday.

Hastings earns narrow win over Rangers

Swim team loses by 10 points

swimkb.jpgA week after the boys swimming and diving team went full bore with three meets in seven days, Forest Lake’s schedule eased up during the second week of January.

: In last week’s close loss to Hastings, Kevin Brennhofer helped the Forest Lake swim team as a member of both the winning 200 free relay, and the second place 200 medley relay team. Up next, the Rangers host Mounds View on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 6 p.m.

Girls’ slip up in loss to Woodbury

Rangers defeat Park, 5-4 

blumgoal.jpgSix weeks ago the Forest Lake girls hockey team took on the 2-0 Woodbury Royals and promptly sent its Suburban East Conference opponent home with a 3-1 defeat. That would begin a 12-game run down the losers’ aisle for Woodbury, while also helping the Rangers open with a 7-0 record.
